Length: 29 Inches Weight: 21 Pounds
Physical Changes: Everyone says I now look like a little boy and no longer a baby. I have a full head of thick golden colored hair with some red highlights. I've slimmed down considerably and now am only in the 50th percentile in weight and am in the 75% for height.
Eating and sleeping habits: I haven't been sleeping too well over the last few weeks. Mommy suspects that it has been mostly due to teething...but also I had a mild ear infection as well as a bad cold that made me very congested. Mommy thinks I was getting overly comfortable sleeping in the BIG bed with her and Daddy....so now she is trying to get me to sleep through the night again in my own crib. Mommy says she doesn't mind having me sleep with her...but she wants me to be able to sleep in my own bed too. Also, daylight savings time has got me a little out of whack. I slept in my crib last night for the first time in weeks...I woke up once...but just for about 15 minutes to nurse...and then I went back to sleep for the night.
I am doing a lot better with eating solids at long last. I still am not an enthusiastic eater..but I will tolerate food much more readily. I even started eating a little bit of baby food chicken this month. I kind of like that, when I am in the mood. I eat really well for Miss Janice, Miss Katy and Miss Bonnie at school....but only will eat a few bites for Mommy most of the time. I really like Yo Baby yogurt...or Dannon's La Creme yogurt. It is yummy! I also actually ate a french fry at the mall. I didn't choke on it or anything. Mommy is trying to reintroduce me to the sippy cup.
New skills, accomplishments and talents: Although I am still not crawling in the true sense of the word...I am doing what we call the "Army Combat Crawl" where I scurry about on my stomache, pulled forward by my arms and elbows....and also "swimming" and rolling side-to-side to get around. It ain't pretty...but it gets me where I want to go. I am actually putting my legs down to support myself once in a while..but mainly I still have collapseable legs. Oh well. Mommy is taking me for x-rays tomorrow morning to make sure there isn't some reason that I am not standing yet... I am starting to wave bye bye.
New places visited and new experiences: Mommy and Daddy have taken me out to test drive lots of minivans over the last few weekends. They finally bought one and picked me up in it on Monday night. It is pretty big. They bought me a Pontiac Montana 8 passenger minivan loaded with all kind of amenities. My door slides open automatically...and I have a great big hug window to look out of...and it has tint on the window that helps block out the brightness of the sun.
I am becoming a handful when Mommy & Daddy take me out to dinner. I want to grab everything on the table...and throw it on the floor. Mommy and Daddy give me crackers and stuff..but I am not intersted in eating them...I just like to crumble them up and throw them on the floor. What a mess there was under my highchair when we were ready to leave... And I try to grab all of the cups and silverware and napkins...and anything I can get my hands on.
Mommy took down my mobile and took the bumper pads out of my crib. It is weird to be able to see out of the crib. Grammy made me a new fluffy lightweight quilt with Snoopy and soccer balls on it. I sleep with that now along with the blanket that I got from "Uncles" Ken, Glen and Michael.
My favorite... I love to give kisses to people I love. If I love you I will gently grab your face with both hands an pull you in close to me and suck on your lips. :)
Toys: My Whirlin' Twirlin' Garden and the little blocks that come with it...plastic gladware containers and the serving sealer containers my Mommy puts my baby food in... The dogs' tails. My excersaucer. All the toys at daycare. Basically I am really into toys right now. Toys are good. I also like books. They are tasty too.
Colors: spring green!
Music: I like to sing my own songs now...
Activities: I like to play with toys and watch my Baby Einstein videos. I also enjoy interacting with other children...they are pretty funny. Sometimes I sing to them.
Other notes: That's about it for now....
